You ran for office because you wanted to make a difference. Many of you want to do what’s right and help restore our democracy. You know what happens if things continue as they are.
You have an opportunity to be mentioned alongside the greatest names in American history. Now is your time.
Locate:
As you know, it will take at least 20 fellow GOP senators to convict an impeachment. Right now your job is to find out who those people are. You will need to visit your peers in person to form a coalition. Don’t assume that someone else is already doing this for you. Even if they are, they haven’t succeeded yet. Perhaps you can do a better job.
Clarify:
This partnership is about impeachment. This is not about any specific policy, crime, or nuance. There are no more incremental steps to be taken.
Act:
The GOP members of the coalition must publicly, as a group, call for impeachment. They are the ones with the power to end this, and will need to be the ones to speak loudly and clearly. Once 20 GOP senators speak out in support of impeachment, the process will be fully in motion.
What about safety?
There is no sugar coating this. If you speak out, you will get death threats. Your family will be threatened. Your career will be threatened. This is why you must do it as a group.
Aren’t I more effective staying in my lane?
Without impeachment, it is likely that your seat becomes as effective as that of legislators in Russia or North Korea.
